Untraditional Gilding in London

Open Books met at Magnolia Wharf to spend a day gilding.

GOLD:  Carole Dow

Transfer 23.5carat gold was used with a variety of creative techniques, to gild textured areas, add gouache, gilding gouache and combine with water colour washes.

The next step will be to apply these techniques to pieces of work; with a whisper of gold to enhance a design, a glint of gold to catch the light or washed gold to give the focal point added depth.
