As promised, a detail of a piece of calligraphy using water colour as a secondary element instead of as a primary element.
The background is really just one colour sloshed on, then rice paper which I had scanned and printed on my computer laminated to it. (Handwritten music by a friend) The lettering is in water colour, not gouache.
The client's favourite colour was green, but the poem was about rubies, hence the little diamond shapes in red. This was from a client to give his wife for their golden anniversary.
In the meantime I am working on re-claiming dried tubes and sorting out my watercolours - I am doing a bit every evening while I cook, which proves that artists can multi-task!
I've nearly completed the revamping and should have something to show tomorrow.
