How to make bunting - part 1

Today is planning and making the template - tomorrow is cutting and stitching.
Equipment:
Fabric & cord (See yesterday's blog)
½ meter lengths of fabric e.g. 112cm wide
Cord, the length of the bunting will be plus extra to tie onto trees or poles or whatever.
Tools
ruler
needle, pins, thread
fabric scissors
*pinking shears (zig-zag scissors)
Iron
Sewing machine
cardboard template
lead pencil, white "coloured" pencil

Template
(improvise with a single template if necessary)
Cardboard pref. 60cm X 26cm (or 20cm X 24 cm
craft knife with snap off blades
metal ruler
cutting mat

You can make a single template, but for speedy working, I use a triple template
Draw a horizontal line 2cm from the top
to keep the templates “joined”
Draw verticals every 10cm
Join with a zig-zag.
Cut the template out.
The red line is the folded top of the flags.
Although you draw three at once, when you cut them, they are separate.
(You'll see this part in photos tomorrow)
