Donald Jackson will be addressing us at the Artworkers GuildLetter Exchange on the 17th October 2012. We are expecting a full house so get there early!
Making
letters - Making letters speak
In 1995 Donald Jackson proposed the idea of
an “American Book of Kells” to the monks of Saint John’s
Abbey and the academic community of Saint John’s
University in Minnesota .
After 3 years of courtship and 15 years of
contractual “marriage” to the project, the original handwritten pages were
completed in May 2011.
The Heritage, Limited Edition facsimile
sets will be ready for delivery in the spring 2013.
Donald Jackson will share stories, letters and
images illustrating some of his journey from Genesis to Revelation and back
again.

What an amazing piece. How on earth does he get the combo between the exact formal placement of the letters and the wild swirls and spills of colour - that follow and align with each other so neatly?
