My mother was fascinated by the rose window design, which she created as an oil painting in 2009 (aged 86). It has not reproduced very well as a photograph and I needed it for a dedication in a book. So, as faithfully as possible, I have copied the way in which she shaded the squares and the background (digitally). There is a shimmery glow which in the original radiated with luminescent blue oils from a 60cm roundel. In fact from far, I think it is reminiscent of a rose.
